Meet Dr. Alissa Priolo
Well hello! Welcome to Priolo Psychology!
My name is Alissa! As you can probably tell from my website, I do not like to do things the “normal way”! I like to do things bold, loud, and proud. Here are 5 things you should know about my origin story before moving on to check out what I offer in therapy with children, youth, young adults, and families!
I have had an anaphylactic allergy to peanuts and tree nuts my entire life. This has led to years of working to befriend my body and anxiety instead of feeling shame and guilt.
I also have a small human who has allergies, asthma, and anxiety. I not only work with anxiety, but it also lives in my house!
I love pop culture, music, sketching cartoon characters, arcades, and classic robots.
I damaged my knee 6 years ago and you will see me wearing my best friend “big red.” She can be a little annoying, but I have really come to emBRACE her!
My therapy room is neurodivergent, 2SLGBTQIA+, and BIPOC affirming. I am a strong advocate for social justice and change.
Land acknowledgment
In the spirit of respect, reciprocity and truth, we honour and acknowledge Moh’kinsstis, and the traditional Treaty 7 territory and oral practices of the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3 within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. Finally, we acknowledge all Nations – Indigenous and non – who live, work and play on this land, and who honour and celebrate this territory.
