When it comes to working with ocd and anxiety, the key ingredient is

willingness

to step beyond the loop!

Meet Dr. Alissa Priolo

Well hello! Welcome to Priolo Psychology!

My name is Alissa, or Dr. P! As you can probably tell from my website, I do not like to do things the “normal way”! This is because when it comes to working with OCD, anxiety, and nerodivergence you have to be willing to step outside the box in therapy. I ask young people to be willing to take a risk on themselves because I know that risk is worth it!

I specialize in working with OCD, phobias, anxiety, medical (asthma/allergy) anxiety, ARFID, ADHD, autism, giftedness, and sensory dysregulation. I am passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ clients. This work is hard, but I am all about finding the fun in facing fears and building bravery along the way!

Here are 5 things you should know about my origin story before you check out what I offer in therapy for children, youth, young adults, and families who are navigating OCD and anxiety.

  • I have had an anaphylactic allergy to peanuts and tree nuts my entire life. This has led to years of working to befriend my body and anxiety instead of feeling shame and guilt.

  • I also have a small human who has allergies, asthma, and anxiety. I not only work with anxiety, but it also lives in my house!

  • I love pop culture, music, sketching cartoon characters, arcades, and classic robots.

  • I damaged my knee 6 years ago and you will see me wearing my best friend “big red.” She can be a little annoying, but I have really come to emBRACE her!

  • My therapy room is neurodivergent, 2SLGBTQIA+, and BIPOC affirming. I am a strong advocate for social justice and change.
